How To Make 2010 A HUGE Success

2010 is almost here, and if you’re not feeling too good about how things went for you this year, you may be looking forward to the new year and a fresh start.  This is a step in the right direction, but you’re going to need to make some changes in order to turn things around.

Even if you did great this year there is always room for improvement.  Here’s how to make 2010 a HUGE success!

Take A Look Into The Past

Start by looking over the past year and analyzing the things you did in your booklet business.  What worked?  What didn’t?  Why?  History repeats itself when we don’t learn from our mistakes.

One mistake that is often made and overlooked is the mistake of procrastination.  If you need to make a decision, think it through but, when there is nothing more to contemplate, don’t wait.  Make the decision. You’ll find you have less stress when you are able to make decisions in a timely manner.

Change the things that didn’t work for you or cut them out completely.  Keep the things that did work and ask yourself how you can get them to work even better.  By looking at the past it helps to guide your future.

Create An Action Plan

Once you have an idea of what did and didn’t work this year, you will be able to sit down and create an action plan for the next year.  This is something you should write down rather than relying on your own mind to remember it all.

Your plan doesn’t have to be complicated. If you’re just starting out and writing your first booklet, your plan may simply revolve around getting that first booklet created, produced and on the market.

If you have a larger business that offers many different titles, your plan may be a little more complex – involving new marketing strategies and new products to develop.  But, it still doesn’t need to be lengthy.  It just needs to be understood by YOU.

Getting From Where You Are To Where You Want To Be

Once your action plan is finished you need to carry it out.  You may find you need to make some changes as the year progresses, and that’s fine.  No plan should ever be so rigid that you can’t deviate from it if you need to.

Without a plan of action you’re just drifting along day by day, waiting for something to happen.  But, with a written, understandable and doable plan, you’ve got a map to follow to get from where you are to where you want to be.

Look over the plan you made and decide where you will begin.  You don’t have to do everything all at once. Choose one or two things you would like to work on, or change, and start with that.  Once those things have improved or are going well, move on to the next thing in your plan.

Analyze the past, create a plan of action and carry it out.  It’s easy to do and it will make your new year everything you want it to be!

To your riches,
