You may be thinking that you need to be able to write your booklet using a wide vocabulary and alot of big words in order to be thought of as an expert. After all, big words that are pertinent to your topic sound impressive and tell others you know what you’re talking about, right? Hogwash!
The plain and simple truth is that most Americans don’t read much above a 5th grade level, so the more big, fancy words you use the less likely it is that your content will be understood. And no matter which country you are in or writing for, the simpler you can make your content the more readers you will have.
This does not mean that your content is written to everyone or that your market for your title is any larger. It means that more of your market will be able to enjoy and learn from your booklet.
Keep your writing simple and make it easily understood. Doing so will only add to your riches as an author.
