Why The Opportunity For E-Riches Is HUGE

Many authors tend to think that ebooks don’t have any real merit or value.  They consider the market for ebooks too small to be worth their time.  These authors feel that in order to have the credit they deserve as a writer, it’s best to avoid writing ebooks and stick to printed books.

According to The Association Of American Publishers, ebook sales rose 136.2% for the month of June 2009, for a total of $14 million dollars. The market for ebooks is already large, and it’s continuing to grow at a rapid pace.  So much for what all those other authors believe.  Now, the only question you should be asking is how you can capitalize on this growing market.

Ebooklets – The Fastest Way To Publish And Make Money

The absolute fastest way to break into booklet publishing is with an ebooklet.  An ebooklet affords you the opportunity to create a product very quickly for practically no cash up front.  It literally lets you go from idea to sale within 24 hours or less in some cases, and usually within no more than a week.

As if that weren’t temptation enough to create an ebooklet, the market for your ebooklet is online already – right where your ebooklet will be sold.  This makes sales a snap!

What About All Those Free Ebooks Online?

You may be thinking that people won’t buy your ebooklet because so many authors and website owners offer their ebooks for free, which has spoiled the market.  But, as you can see above, the statistics show otherwise.  Authors are discovering that they don’t have to give away their information for free simply because it is in the form of an ebook or ebooklet.  People are willing to pay for good information no matter what format the information is in.

Why Any Author Can Benefit From Writing An Ebooklet

Creating an ebooklet has several advantages for you even if you plan to create a printed booklet.  In fact, even if you plan to write a full length book, you can still benefit from having an ebooklet online.

An ebooklet gives you a chance to test your market and see how they respond to your subject idea before you spend money on the printed version of your work.  If your ebooklet isn’t well received, chances are your printed version won’t be either.  But, unlike with printed copies, you can easily make changes to your ebooklet and give it another go.

Another advantage of an ebooklet, which is for those who plan to write a full length book, is that you can give your audience a small taste of the whole, enticing them to buy your book once it’s published.  The ebooklet will do the marketing for you by generating interest.  Most book authors have an online audience they market to.  An ebooklet will help with that.

So go ahead and give it go!  With an ebooklet, you’ve got nothing to lose and a market that is already out there – waiting to discover your product!

Booklets – The Easy Way To Get Into The Information Business

Everyone has inside information about something – information that others would pay to get their hands on.  It doesn’t matter whether you’re a top executive with degrees and awards, or a stay at home mom who has never worked a day in your life.  You possess valuable information that someone, somewhere would be willing to pay you for.

The Information Market Is Huge

Possibly the biggest industry boom that exists today is the information market.  There isn’t a single person on the planet who doesn’t need information on a daily basis.  Think about it.  From the time you get up in the morning you’re on a quest for information.  You need information about the weather, the traffic, and other things that are pertinent and personal to you.  And, it’s that personal information – which applies to an individual’s lifestyle or current situation – on which riches are made.

Why Your Information Is Unique

Your life is made up of experiences, and those experiences give you information.  That information goes into your brain and you process it, and package it up a certain way based on the outcome of your experience.  Nobody else has the exact same information you do, even if they shared the same experience with you.  They would process the information differently from the way you did.  Therefore, your information is unique and also valuable.  This is why you see so many books on the same topic.  How many diet books do we really need?  Well, all of them because there are so many different ways to go about dieting and a one size fits all book would never work.  Each one is written from a different perspective based on the author’s experience.

Start With A Booklet And Grow From There

Once you’ve determined that your information is worth something, your next move is to create an information product.  There are many different kinds of information products that you can create, but booklets are a very easy way to get started and they are also quite profitable.  They retain their value very well, and people tend to keep them and tell others about them – which helps to propel your sales forward.

Another reason booklets are such a great way to break into the info-marketing biz is that you can produce them for literally nothing.  How?  By creating an e-booklet which can be downloaded by paying customers.  E-booklets allow you to harness the internet and take advantage of all the riches it has to offer.

Of course, if e-booklets aren’t your thing, you can print hard copies of your booklets.  And, if you only print copies once they are sold it won’t cost you a dime!

Booklets are also a very versatile way to enter the information market because you can always add to them.  You can create both printed copies and e-booklet versions, add online audio or a cd, add other booklets, and so on to create a package.  You’re business can begin very small with a single booklet, and grow from there into whatever you want your product line to be.

With a booklet, you can have an idea today and literally have a completed product by this time next week.  The sooner you can get your product on the market, the sooner you can start making money.  What are you waiting for?

To your riches!

What You Need To Know To Turn The Money Faucet On Full Tilt

Have you heard the saying, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket?”  This applies to publishing in a HUGE way, and its concept is crucial to making real money with your booklet.

How Money Works

Part of gaining real wealth is understanding how money flows.  There are millions of hard working people on this planet – good, honest people who get up and go to work everyday, who are broke.  Why?  They don’t understand how money works.

Money doesn’t care who you are.  It doesn’t care whether you’re honest or evil, rich or poor, black or white, male or female.  Money has no conscience and no agenda.  It’s just a resource like water or soil.  And, like any resource, there are many different ways to access and use it.

This is what most people fail to understand.  They have a job which gives them a paycheck.  That job is one way, one channel for money to flow to them.  And for most people that’s the only way that money comes to them.  In this case, their “eggs” are their time and skills.  Their “basket” is their job.  They rely solely on that job to provide for them and their families.  Whatever the job pays them, that is how much money they have.

The Publishing Perspective

Now, let’s use the job example above and apply it to your booklet, because many authors make the same mistake that most other people make.  As an author and booklet publisher, you own a business.  And, if you treat that business the same way that most people treat their jobs, you’re not going to have the wealth that you dreamed of before you started out on your booklet adventure.  Your “eggs” are your booklets.  And, your “basket” is the methods you use for publishing and selling those booklets.  The biggest advantage you have as an author and booklet publisher is the opportunity to diversify your publishing and sales methods.  If you fail to do this your business will remain small and your wallet will remain empty.

If you write and publish a booklet for one specific market and you sell it via one specific method, you’ve got one channel for money to come to you.  And this is how many authors operate their publishing business.  To their mind, they have one product, one audience and one way of getting that product to their audience.  But, running your booklet publishing business this way will not create wealth.  It will create a small trickle of money that flows to you – a little here, a little there – like a leaky faucet that drips a little at a time.  What you want is for that faucet to be turned on all the way so that the money flows out hard and continuously.

What you need to do is sit down and have a good brainstorming session.  You must come up with ways to diversify your booklet’s format and your sales methods.

Look Deeper

There are two basic ways to sell booklets – online and off.  But, you need to look beyond the basics.  An author who wants to sell their booklet online may only offer that booklet in a PDF format.  This author is missing out on the riches that they could be receiving if they also offered their booklet in RTF, LRF, PDB, Plain Text, HTML, and other publishing formats.  If they just looked a little deeper, they would discover that there are many other “baskets” to put their “eggs” into.  These publishing formats will create opportunities for sales that the author would not have had otherwise.

When you look at your own booklet business, look deeper.  Don’t think of your business as simply one booklet being sold one way.  Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.  Diversify.  Create different methods for publishing your booklet and making sales.  Turn that faucet on full tilt!

To your riches!

How To Get From Where You Are To Where The Riches Are

Are you wondering how you’re going to accomplish your vision for your booklet business?  Does the journey from where you are to where you want to be seem too difficult?  Maybe you’ve just heard about writing booklets, and you’d like to do it but you’re having trouble connecting all the dots to understanding how to make it happen.  Or maybe you’re somewhere in the middle, with a created booklet, and you’re trying to figure out what your next step is.  No matter where you are in your booklet adventure there is one thing you must NOT do in order to succeed.  You must never give up.

A Booklet Business Isn’t Build In A Day

Building a booklet business isn’t something that happens in a day.  It happens over time, step by step.  Everything you do for and in your business is like a building block or a brick.  There is a process to it.  You can’t make a sale until you have a product to sell.  You can’t have a product to sell until it is created.  And your product can’t be created until you first come up with the idea from which it will take its shape.  If you’re at the very beginning of your booklet adventure, then you must come up with an idea.  You won’t be able to move forward without knowing what kind of booklet you’re going to create.  Once your booklet manuscript is written, then you must move to the production step of the process, because you can’t make a sale without a finished product.

Each step of the process unfolds as you continue in the adventure.  Sometimes, a particular step isn’t always completely clear, but in time you’ll have the answers you need as long as you don’t give up.  Keep going.

What To Do When You Don’t Have The Money To Move Forward

Sometimes knowledge isn’t the problem.  You might be completely clear on what your next step is, but you don’t have the funds to move forward.  Don’t let this stop you.  Booklets are downright cheap to create compared to self publishing a book.  Instead of thousands of dollars, you’ll only need a few hundred dollars, and that amount is attainable for anyone.

If funding your next step is your problem, and you’re trying to figure out how you can come up with the money you need, first take a look at what you have and where you spend it.  Does every cent literally go for living expenses and food, or are you spending money on movies and lattes that you could put aside toward your booklet project?  You may have a little cash each month that you could save toward getting that next step in the process completed.

No extra cash?  All your money goes toward your living and food expenses?  How about doing a little fund raising, such as writing articles or selling off some things you’re not using on ebay?  How about getting your extended family and friends together and doing a big garage sale?  Maybe they’ll even donate their earnings from the sale toward your project.

Maybe you have another skill, aside from writing, that you could use to get the money you need for your project.  No?  Perhaps you could take a temporary, part time job such as working at your local state fair when they hire, or taking a temporary job during the holiday season.  As a writer, even a non-fiction one, you’re forced to have a certain amount of creativity.  Use that creativity toward finding a solution to your funding problem.  Don’t give up.  You can do this!  You can make it happen if you’re willing to put forth a little creative thinking and then take action.

Which Way Will You Go?

Nothing worthwhile is ever achieved without a few road blocks.  The road blocks are what separate those who overcome from the ones who cower in fear and turn back.  They are what stand between those who thrive, and those who merely exist.  And the road blocks are what make the rich rich, and keep the rest living paycheck to paycheck.

How will you deal with the road blocks in your booklet adventure?  Will you see them as insurmountable and impassable and turn back?  Or will you face them head on, conquer them and move forward?  The riches are on the other side.

To your riches!

Why You Should Write Even When Inspiration Eludes You

Are you waiting for the right time to write your booklet?  Maybe you’re just too tired to write right now, or maybe you’re waiting for some great spark of inspiration to ignite your imagination and send your fingers flying across the keyboard in a flurry to get your sizzling prose down while it’s hot.  Or, maybe you’re sick and just taking it easy until you feel better.

Why You Can’t Afford To Wait For Inspiration

If any of the above describes you, drink some caffeine to wake up, take something to help you feel well enough to sit at your computer, and realize that inspiration rarely ever comes when it’s needed most!  Each of these things is simply an excuse to keep you from achieving your goals.  Think about it.  When aren’t you tired?  When do you feel really well, all revved up and ready to write?  And how often do you feel truly inspired?  Probably less than 1% of the time if you’re like most people.

Your Riches Won’t Come From Thin Air

Writing a booklet and running a booklet business takes a commitment.  You can’t continually put off your writing and expect your booklet manuscript to get completed.  Nor can you shirk your responsibilities to your business.  You must be willing to keep your nose to the grindstone even when you don’t feel like it.  That’s not to say that you can’t rest if you’re truly very ill, but most of the time we like to make excuses for not doing the work we need to do.  And if we don’t do the work, we won’t reap the riches from it.

You don’t have to be a genius to write a booklet, nor does your writing need to be perfect every time you sit down at the keyboard.  You can always proofread it later and make changes.  The point is to get something done so you can keep moving forward.

The more time and effort you put into your booklet business, the more you will get out of it.  It’s all up to you!

To your riches!

The Most Important Choice You’ll Ever Make

The average American is in debt, overweight, doesn’t get enough sleep and works too hard.   The average American spends their leisure time in mindless activities such as watching TV (up to 7 hours per day!), answering email and text messaging.  The average American is constantly broke and lives paycheck to paycheck.  The average American will die without a legacy.  The average American will never write a book or booklet.  If there is anything you don’t want to be, it’s an average American.

You Don’t Have To Be An American To Be Average

No matter which country you hail from, you can relate to the plight of the average person.  There is nothing special about the average person.  They go through life, living from one day to the next, never trying to better their existence.  All they know, and all they can see is the here and now.   And the here and now has so overwhelmed them that they can’t think beyond it.  It consumes them.  This is true for the vast majority – the average person.

Being Average Is A Choice

Everyday you have a choice to make whether you realize it or not – the choice to be average or the choice to rise above that status quo.  If you are not making the choice, it is being made for you and you will live an average life.  Only by consciously making the choice to strive for something better will you be able to avoid the fate of the average person.

Why Riches Don’t Flow To The Average Person

The average person can never attain true wealth.  Why?  Because true wealth does not flow to the average.  It flows to those who want something more, who are willing to sacrifice their average lifestyle for something better.  The masses of society are not willing to do anything more than they are currently doing.  If they were, we would live in a very different world.  But, the fact is the majority are comfortable living their average lifestyle.  They don’t want to change it.  They may dream about it and wish they could, but they really don’t want to or they would.  Since the average person is not willing to strive for more, they will never have more.  They will have what they’ve always had – an average existence.

Booklets And The Status Quo Don’t Mix

When you step out and create a booklet, you’re rising above the status quo because most people will never write anything.  Most people will say they want to write a booklet or book or article, but they’ll make every excuse they can for not getting it done.  They just can’t find the time to do it because they’re too busy.

If writing a booklet, reaping the riches from it, and having a better lifestyle is something you truly desire to do, you must make the choice to rise above your average lifestyle and do what needs to be done to have something more than you have.  You must be willing to see your project through to the end, and if a problem arises you must be willing to meet it head on rather than making excuses and quitting.  You know the old saying – quitters never win, and winners never quit.  It’s true.  The only difference between the average person and the quitter is that the average person never starts, so they have nothing to quit.

In order to be a successful booklet author you must be willing to give up the status quo.  An author’s success and the status quo never mix.  In fact, the status quo will never mix with excellence in any endeavor.

You have a choice before you now.  The only question is will you choose to remain average or will you step out of the status quo?

To your riches!

The Secret To Reaping Riches From The Question “What Do You Do?”

If it hasn’t happened to you yet, it will.  It might happen at the grocery store, or at the playground while you’re watching your children or grandchildren.  It can happen on the bus or subway, or while you’re shopping at the mall.  It might even happen while you’re traveling on vacation.  What is it?  It’s when someone asks you what you do for a living.  Do you know how to answer them?

A Simple Answer

As a booklet author you wear many hats.  You’re a writer and publisher, an advertiser and marketer, a salesman and negotiator.  You might even be an employer, a consultant or a public speaker.  How can you possibly express all of this to the person who asks you what you do?  And worse yet, you must express it in a way that is brief.

The truth is, nobody really cares about everything you do.  Most people are just curious and are looking for a simple, basic answer.

Start With The Basics

When you talk to people about what you do, you should start with the basics.  This means you answer their question with the root of what you do.  You are an author or a writer about a particular subject.  That is what your business is built upon.   You might say, “I’m a writer.  I write about using natural methods to relieve allergies.”  This gives a basic, overall kind of explanation while at the same time pinpointing your expertise.

The Next Step

Many people will be satisfied with your basic answer.  But, sometimes they will want more information.  It may be that they have allergies and are looking for help.  Or, they might be an allergy specialist who is interested in knowing more about your information.  If they ask for more specific information, you should give it to them.  But, do it one bite at a time.  You don’t want to overwhelm them.  For example, they might ask who you write for or what you write about allergies.  In this case you could answer, “I write booklets about natural allergy relief for doctors to give to their patients.”

Getting It Down Pat And Why It’s So Important

From the time you have your first booklet on the market, you need to know what to tell people when they ask you what you do.  You should put together an answer that is brief, but that tells people what you write about.  Why is this so important?  Because unless the person asking you has told you who they are and why they’re asking, you don’t know.

It’s easy to assume, during the course of friendly conversation while standing in line at the grocery store or chatting with the person next to you on the bus, that they are just curious.  And they may be.  But, they may be someone with the clout to make a large quantity purchase from you, or they may know someone who might be interested.  They could also be interested in purchasing a copy for themselves, and if they do they may make future purchases from you down the road and refer you to their friends and family.

Some professionals create what’s called an elevator speech, and they develop different versions of it to fit different situations.  But, you’ll never be able to create a speech to fit every situation because you can never know ahead of time just where someone else is coming from or why they’re interested in what you write.

A better way to handle it is to start with the basics and build from there, giving only the information the person needs to know or might be truly interested in.  You don’t need to memorize an elevator speech, but you should know how to tell someone the basics of what you do, and you should be able to give them more information easily if they need it.  This may come naturally to you, or it may require some thought on your part and a little practice.  But, it’s of vital importance because you just never know who you’ll meet next time you go out to dinner or go on a cruise.

Give some serious thought to how you will respond the next time someone asks you what you do.  Don’t leave it to chance.  Your answer just might take you down the road to riches!

To your riches!

How To Create Goals That Will Make You Rich

Have you ever heard the phrase “If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll probably end up somewhere else?”  This is especially true for you as an author and as a booklet business owner.   You must know where you’re going or you’ll end up somewhere else.  In other words, you must know what it is you’re trying to achieve, or you’ll miss the mark.  And how can you know what you’re trying to achieve?  By determining what you want and setting goals.

Without Goals You’re Shooting In The Dark

Without goals you have nothing to aim for.  You may be making your best effort and giving it all you’ve got, but you’re shooting in the dark at a target that not only can’t you see, but you aren’t even sure what the target is or whether there is even one at all.

When you decide to write a booklet, you may choose your topic and get the booklet done, but these are short term goals which are easy to reach.  You need long term goals to strive for, and once you reach them you need to create new goals which are even loftier than the first ones.  This not only keeps you going and keeps you motivated, but it gives you ever higher rewards for your efforts.

How To Create A Goal

Unlike most things you create, goals are not created from the beginning.  They are created from the outcome you want at the end.  In order to create a goal, you must think about the outcome you desire from your efforts.  The outcome doesn’t need to be a single thing, such as a particular dollar amount you wish to make in income.  The outcome should actually be a list of things you would like to achieve, such as an income amount, number of copies sold, number of quantity deals made, and so on.  Once you know what you would like to achieve and you have that goal in your mind, you can then begin to work backwards to see how to get there.

Why Goals Are Like Balloons

Every goal you create must have a deadline.  Without deadlines, goals are just wishes.  It’s too easy to put things off that will help you achieve your goals if you don’t give them a deadline.  Without deadlines, it’s as if your goals are floating in the air like balloons that are visible but out of reach.  A deadline is like the anchor that tethers the balloon so that it won’t float away.  It brings the balloon into reach.  This is what deadlines do for your goals.  They give you a time-frame in which to complete your goal.  In essence, deadlines give you a goal for reaching your goal.  Therefore, you should make sure that your deadlines are realistic ones.  If you get to your deadline and you need a little more time, you can always extend it an create a new deadline, but you should do your best to reach your first deadline every time.

Creating Goals To Make You Rich

Once you reach a goal, you need to set a new one that is even higher than the first one.  For example, if one of your goals was to make $50,000 in income, set your new goal for $100,000 once your first goal is reached.  Reaching your second goal will be easier than it was reaching your first one because you know how to achieve that goal.  You’re experienced.

Setting new, higher goals will help you to continually raise the bar and perform to ever higher standards, which in turn will bring you more and more riches – both monetary and non-monetary.  So many people who own businesses reach a certain level and then they stop making goals.  They stagnate.  There is no reason to ever stop making goals.  Your business can continue to grow infinitely.

Set your goals.  Give them deadline.  Achieve your goals.  Set new, higher goals.  Do this continually and you’ll reap riches far beyond what you ever could have dreamed!

To your riches,

Kim

Ten Key Decisions That Unlock The Door To Unlimited Profits For Booklet Authors

When you write and self publish a booklet, you don’t just become an author.  You become a business owner.  And owning a booklet business means owning a business with unlimited profit potential.  Why?  Because you are the one who makes all the decisions.  Here are the seven key decisions that you will make as the owner of a booklet business which will determine your financial future.

1)  You decide what to write. You have the opportunity to choose any topic you wish.  Nobody is dictating what you must write.  This gives you the freedom to write about something you are passionate about.  It also gives you the freedom to choose a topic that will be well received in the market place, and therefore very profitable for you.

2)  You decide when to write. You can write when it is convenient for you.  If you’re working a regular job, you don’t have to quit while you’re writing your first booklet and building your business.  If you have small children, you can write while they nap in the afternoon, or in the evening after they have gone to bed.  You write when you want to or when you can.  You are able to write when you are motivated, and when you have the time or the house is quiet.  This allows you to work on building your profit around the everyday hassles of life.

3)  You decide how much to write. Will yours be a shorter booklet of 16 pages or a longer booklet of 24?  Will you write one booklet only, or will you publish a series?  Or perhaps you will write many booklets on many different subjects, or create several different series of booklets.  You are completely in charge of how much to write, and how many booklets you want to create.  The more you create, the more potential profit you will bring in.

4)  You decide when to publish. Is there a special holiday that coincides with your booklet?  You can publish your booklet a month or two in advance of the holiday, when people are thinking about it and therefore more apt to purchase your booklet.  Do you need to publish and get to market fast?  You can decide to publish just as soon as your manuscript is finished.  It’s all up to you – and the soon you publish the sooner you can begin making money.

5)  You decide how to publish. Will you publish hard copies or will your booklet only be available as a download online?  Or maybe you would like to do both.  As the owner of a booklet business, it’s completely up to you.  It’s your decision and you can base it on your marketplace and your budget.

6)  You decide how much to charge. One of the biggest problems with using a traditional publishing house is that they control the amount of profit you can make.  They decide what to charge and how much of the profit will go to you.  But, not when you have your own booklet business!  You are the one in control of the pricing and how much per booklet you will earn.  The more you charge, the more you earn, and the more unlimited your profits become.

7)  You decide who to sell to. Do you want to sell to large companies?  Small businesses?  Individuals?  It’s all up to you.  You have the power to make large quantity sales, or to sell to thousands or even millions of individuals.  Want to do it all?  You can do that too!   Having the freedom to sell to everyone within your marketplace gives you unlimited profit potential.

8)  You decide how your booklets will be sold. Will you sell by mail?  Online?  Through a catalog or website?  By word of mouth?  By request only?  By invitation only?  Through an organization that is linked with the subject of your booklet?  There are many ways to sell booklets, and the more ways you sell the more unlimited your profits will be.

9)  You decide whether to create additional products. Do you want to stay in the booklet business and only sell booklets, or do you want to expand your business into other areas and sell other products?  There is no right answer, there is only the right answer for you.  For some, selling booklets is all they want to do.  There is unlimited profit in that alone because the more you sell the more you make.  For others, they might want to add other products to their booklets, or add other products to their business which stand on their own.  That’s fine too.  The more products you have to sell the more unlimited your profits will be.  Booklets are a product unto themselves, but you can add other products to your business at any time.

10)  You decide which markets you will serve. With a booklet business, you are in control of not only which markets you will serve, but also how many.  If you have a booklet about how to strengthen your relationship with your spouse, you can choose to market only to people who have filed for but are not yet divorced, or to people who have filed for a certificate of marriage, or to newly-weds, or to couples who have been married for at least 10 years, or to gay couples, or to couples with children.  You can start with one market and then branch out, or if your first market is especially profitable, you might decide to stick with that particular niche.  Being able to make your own decisions about which markets you will serve means being able to increase your profits because you don’t have to serve unprofitable markets.  You have the potential for unlimited profit because you can serve as many profitable markets as you choose to.

When you own a booklet business, you determine your own profit.  Are you ready to get started?

The Worse The Economy Gets, The Better Off Booklet Authors Will Be

I heard on my local news today that the economy may be leveling out and getting ready to turn around.  Have you heard this too?  Do you believe it?  Not me.  I’m not fooled for minute.  I believe we are simply in the eye of the storm, and when the back half hits us it’s going to hit hard.  And when I say “us” I don’t just mean the U.S.  I mean the globe.  If I’m wrong, great.  No worries.  But, what if I’m right?

I’m not sure who it was that coined the phrase, “Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst,” but I would say that is very good advice in light of our current economic situation.   Great, you say, but what does this have to do with booklets?  And here is the answer to that question.

As a writer and author, you have the opportunity to provide something that others are willing to pay for in any economic climate – information.  In fact, the worse the economy gets, the better off booklet authors will be.  Why?  There are two main reasons.

Booklets Cost Less And Save Time

First, booklets are generally less expensive to purchase than books.  This applies across the board to large quantity sales, small quantity sales, and single sales.  When people are pinching pennies, they’re going to want to find ways to get what they need or want for less.  A booklet provides them with the opportunity to get the information they need for less than they would pay for a book.

Booklets also save people time.  It is rare that anyone reads an entire book anymore.  Studies have shown that most people don’t read books, and of those who do most never get beyond the first chapter.  People are just too busy to sit down and read.  They’ve also been conditioned by our instant society to want everything right now.  Your booklet can satisfy their need for fast information.

Information Is Always A Best Seller

The second reason people will buy booklets in tough times is because people will always need information no matter what the economy does.  People will continue to get married, change jobs, lose jobs, have babies, buy new things such as homes or cars or computers, make repairs to things, and so on.  If your booklet provides useful information to someone, it will sell regardless of what happens with the economy.

Of course, you’ll need to understand something of the trend in your market to be able to fill the need for information.  You don’t want to write about something that people really don’t care about.   For example, a booklet on hair care may not grab attention during hard times, but you could come at this subject from a variety of angles so that people would not be able to whip out their wallets fast enough to buy it from you.  How about a booklet that tells women how to have fabulous hair on a frugal budget?  Or a booklet that tells people who have had chemo therapy how to find the perfect wig?  People still get cancer in a bad economy, and this little booklet might just bring a smile to someone’s face.  Or, what about a booklet that tells how to give your family haircuts at home?  You see, it’s not as much the information itself, as it is the direction you take it.

How To Be Prepared For The Worst

So, getting back to hoping for the best and being prepared for the worst, how does that really apply to you as an author?  To be prepared in this case means that you have a way to bring in an income, and a booklet is a great way to do that.  The sooner you get started, the sooner you’ll be prepared for the possibility of an economic collapse the likes of which we’ve never seen before.  You’ll have something of value that people will want, and that will get you through the rough spots.  And should the economy turn around and the economic collapse be avoided, having your booklet on the market will be all the better for you!  Either way, it’s good to be prepared!
