Why A Booklet Deserves Your Careful Consideration

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you already know that a booklet won’t take much or your time or money -  Certainly not as much as a full length book.  But, did you know that a booklet is just as great an investment of your time and money, even though you’re spending less?

Why Booklets Are Such A Great Investment

Why is this so?  Because with a booklet you can reap just as great a return if not greater, and you will never run out of things to sell. You can sell your booklet 24/7 in your sleep if you want to, unlike someone who works by the hour, trading hours for dollars.

When you trade hours for dollars, you only have a few hours each day you can sell.  But, you can sell an endless number of booklets, and it doesn’t matter when they are sold or how many hours you have in a day, because once your booklet is finished the work is already done. You only need to do the work once, and you can sell it over and over again.

How To Double Your Money

Of course, this doesn’t mean you have to stop at one booklet.  You can create as many as you would like to.  Imagine you have two booklets on the market.  Now you’ve doubled you money.  And you don’t have anymore work than you did before.  All you had to do was create another booklet.  Another one time event, which doubled your money.

And you can do this with other products too.  The more you create, the bigger your product line will grow and the more your business will flourish.

If this sounds like alot, it isn’t.  You don’t have to do it all at once.  You can do it on your schedule, as time allows, whenever you are ready. You can create one booklet today, and not create another one for five years or longer if you want to.  How fast you expand your product line is completely up to you.

They Have To Come To You

The great thing about booklets is their fast turn around time.  Get an idea today, write the manuscript over the next few days, produce it the following week, and voila!  You’re in business!

When you write a booklet, you’re investing in your future. Your booklet is like a little seed that will grow and blossom into something wonderful for you.  And it is for you and you alone, because you will own all the rights to that booklet.  Nobody else can sell it, unless you give them permission to do so.  As the sole owner of your booklet, anyone who wants it must come to you to get it. They can’t get it any other way.

If you like to write, a booklet deserves your careful consideration.

To your riches,

Kim

What Will Your Booklet Business Be When It Grows Up?

When you decide to create your first booklet, your focus is very narrow.  You think about the writing, the finished copies and the sales.  You imagine the checks coming in.  And that’s good, but if you can widen your focus even just a little and try to see beyond that first booklet, you just might catch a glimpse of a future that is far richer than you ever could have dreamed.

Where Do You Want To Be 12 Months From Now?

If you’re just beginning your first booklet, you’ve got an advantage.  You have the opportunity to start from scratch and build your business from the ground up to be exactly the way you want it to be.

But, even if you’re working on your 10th booklet, you can still look ahead and make decisions for what you really want to do and where you really want your business to be in the next 12 months or the next three to five years.

Most people don’t give much thought to what they really want.  They go to a mundane, boring job day after day so they can keep food on the table and pay their rent, or mortgage, and their bills.  That is their life and they’ve accepted it and made their peace with it.  But, that doesn’t have to be your existence if you don’t want it to be.

How NOT To Get Caught Up In The Daily Grind

Any business, even a booklet business, can become a mundane existence if you only concentrate on the work in front of you. You must take some time to think about your future and the future of your business.  You must take time to plan and make goals for yourself so that you’re constantly striving to achieve something.

When you have no goals to work toward, you get caught up in the daily grind and it becomes monotonous.  Goals create excitement and passion.  They keep you going.  And it isn’t because of the thrill of achieving them, although it is a good feeling to accomplish something you set out to do.  It’s because they bring rewards with them when they are met.

When you take time to think about your future and make plans and create goals, you are building the kind of business and future that you want.  It isn’t left up to chance.  You are in the drivers seat, and you decide where you want to go.

You must be an active participant in planning your future and the future of your booklet business. You must decide what you want.  When you do, you’ll achieve your goals and have what you desire.  But, if you don’t, you’ll simply go from day to day, dealing with whatever comes up.  It will be a never ending grind because you won’t feel like you’re working toward something.

So, What Will Your Business Be When It Grows Up?

Make some time to plan today.  Don’t wait.  If you do you’re putting your future and your dreams on hold.  Think about your writing and your business.  Maybe you haven’t even thought of writing a booklet as a business, but it is.

Your booklet is your product.  Since you’ll be selling that product for profit, you have a business.  Define its parameters today. How big do you want it to become?  Do you want to create just one booklet and build your business around it?  Or do you want to create many booklets?  Will you only sell booklets or will you create other products too?  Will you work from home, or do you see yourself in an office long term?

And, while you’re at it, think about what you want from your business for yourself.  The whole reason of being in business for yourself in the first place is to achieve your dreams. If you can’t do that, then you might as well be trading hours for dollars in some dismal, gray cubical somewhere.

So, what do you want?  Yes, more money, but how much more?  $10,000 a year?  $50,000?  $200,000?  A million or more?  Don’t be afraid to dream big.  Go for it!  Decide what you want.  Once you do, then ask yourself what kind of business you need to build to achieve that goal.

You truly can have whatever you want.  Just figure out what you want, plan and create the goals you need to get there, and then get started and watch your business grow!

To your riches!

10 Ideas To Help You Come Out A Winner When You’re Thinking Of Going In A New Direction

What do you do when you have a booklet, or a series of booklets that you’ve been marketing and doing well with, and you want to go in a new direction, creating new booklets for a completely different market?  This can be a tough decision, especially when you’re really passionate about your new idea.  But, it can be done and if it’s handled properly, it can bring in even more riches for you!

Here are some ideas to help you navigate this decision so that you come out a winner!

1) The first thing you must consider is the booklet or booklets you have been doing well with. This is your current income stream and therefore you should continue making this product or products available.  If you don’t, you won’t have the income to bring your new idea to fruition.

2) With your current booklet going like gangbusters, the next thing you should ask yourself is whether your new idea could fit within your current market. This would give you a new product to offer those who already have your other booklets.

3) If your new idea can be marketed to your current audience, that makes your marketing easier.  You already know how to reach this market.

4) Another advantage of being able to sell your new idea to your current market is that since they have bought from you before, it is safe to assume that a majority of them will buy from you again.

5) If your new idea is not marketable to your current audience, for example if your current audience is working mothers and you want to write a booklet for motorcycle enthusiasts, you must consider the amount of time that you have put into your current marketing in order to make and keep it successful. Will marketing to a new audience take away from the successful marketing you’ve been doing already?  And, will you have enough time to devote to marketing your new booklet?

6) Count the cost. Very little marketing is actually free.  Even marketing that might seem to be free will cost you in time.  Can you afford to market to both audiences?

7) If your audiences are vastly different, you probably won’t be able to successfully market your booklets under the same business umbrella.  You may need to create a second business for your new booklets, or you may need to create some kind of division within your current business to accomodate your new passion.

8) Always look for the simplest, most cost and time effective way to do things. If it’s too complicated, find a way to make it easier.  If you can’t it might not be worth doing.  In the case of your new idea, if it’s going to make things in your business much more complicated, it will end up complicating your life.  Make sure that you can add your new idea to your current schedule of things to do without having to make too many sacrifices long term.

9) Consider your new market. Is it larger than your current one?  Are you likely to gain even greater benefits by marketing to the new market than you are to the old one?

10) How will the new market enrich and enlarge your business overall?

When you take these things into consideration, you’ll be well on your way to making the best possible decision as to whether you should pursue your new interest now or wait until a later time, and the best way to go about it.

To your riches!

How To Deal With Life’s Stuff So That You Aren’t Distracted From Your Work

Life is like a roller coaster.  It has it’s ups and downs.  Some days you might feel like you’re on top of the world, and other days you might feel like you’re in such a low valley you’ll never be able to climb out.  But, no matter how you feel, you must remember you still have a booklet business to run.  You must never allow your feelings to get in the way of your goals.

How can you do this?  How can you work on your new manuscript, or call that executive who is interested in a quantity purchase, or fill those orders that came in today when you’re feeling so down and out that you just want to curl up in bed and go to sleep?  Or when you’re so excited that you just want to burst and you can’t concentrate on anything?

Here are five ways you can use to deal with the stuff life throws at you so you can be more productive in your writing and your business.

1)  Take a brisk walk. Walking helps you burn off some energy.  It helps to calm you.  If you talk to that executive and he places a very large order, you may be so excited you just can’t concentrate on getting the rest of your work done.  You need to burn off that energy so you can go back to work.

Walking also helps to calm you when you feel down.  It gives you time to think, and to focus on the solution to the problem.

2)  Call a friend. Ok, you know you shouldn’t be talking to friends during your working hours.  But, when you are just so emotional you can’t work anyway, talking to a friend can help you release that emotion so you can focus on your work again and do what needs to be done.

3)  Search online for a solution. Sometimes it helps to read what others have written who are in the same situation.  You can read articles, blog posts, or even join an online group to find the answers you need.

4)  Engage in a relaxing activity. When you’re wound up too tight, no matter which way, you need to relax.  It’s time to go to the bookstore to browse a little and maybe have some coffee.  Or, do some exercise or go for a swim.  Maybe a hot bath and some music will help.

5)  Set a certain amount of time aside to think about it, and when the time is up go back to work. You can’t ignore your feelings, but you can’t allow them to interfere with your work either.  If they do, they’ll end up interfering with your life and you’ll never reach the goals you have set for yourself.  So, give yourself some time to feel the way you do – to think about things – and then, when time’s up go back to work.

To your riches!

The Secret To Having A Prosperous Booklet Business And A Rich Life

One of the pitfalls of being a booklet author who is in charge of everything related to your product and your business is that it can be tempting to do everything yourself.  This is your creation, your product and your business and in order to make it work, you may feel you must have total control.  And the only way to have total control is to do it all yourself.

This mindset can actually stagnate your business and your booklet sales, keeping your from reaching your goals.

Building A Strong Business

Nobody can do it all.  We all have different strengths and weaknesses.  When you play up your strengths, your business wins.  But, if you add all your weaknesses in there too, your business will suffer.

The best thing you can do is to take care of those things you do well, and get someone else to do the things you don’t do well.  This way, every area of your business will be filled by someone who is strongly equipped to handle the job.

For example, you may be a fantastic writer who is able to easily express ideas and concepts, but you may be a terrible grammarian.  The solution to this is simple.  Hire an editor.  This gives your business strength and it makes your product better.

Avoiding Burnout

Another reason why doing it all yourself is a bad idea is that it causes burnout.  You begin your booklet adventure excited about creating something, and then somewhere along the way you become frustrated.

Things seem to be taking longer than you anticipated due to your lack of skill in a certain area, or you just can’t seem to get the design quite right.  So, after struggling for some time, you decide to throw in the towel on your project and it sits until you can regain your perspective.

This scenario is easily avoided when you get the help you need in the areas where you lack the skill or expertise to handle the job properly on your own.

Enjoying Your Business And Your Life

Your goal with your business is to have a vehicle that can help you live the lifestyle you desire – not to be a slave to your business, doing everything that must be done and having no time to enjoy other things.

It isn’t always easy handing your booklet project over to someone else to do their part.  In fact, it can be a nerve wracking process – especially when you want to feel in control and you’re handing it over for the very first time.  But, you must be big enough to admit when you’re not qualified to handle something, either because you lack the skill, the interest, or the time.

Your admission to yourself of your inability to handle every aspect of your business will strengthen your business, improve your booklets, and give you the time you need to work on those things you can do well, as well as giving you time away from your business to enjoy your life.

It’s not always easy giving up control of your business or your booklet project in the areas where you are weak.  But, in the end, it is so worth it!  It’s the secret to having a prosperous business and a rich life.  And a rich life is really the best thing of all.

To your riches!

The Three Kinds Of Booklet Authors – Which One Are You?

Are you someone who gets an idea, and once you implement it the idea grows into something much larger than what you originally anticipated?  If you thrive on this kind of growth, a booklet business might seem like small potatoes to you.  But, your business doesn’t have to stay small if you want to do something on a grander scale.

A booklet is simply a vehicle to help you get from where you are to where you want to be.  There are three kinds of booklet authors – those whose business is all about booklets, those whose business has nothing to do with booklets, and those who are not quite sure what they want their business to focus on.  But, no matter which kind of author you are, a booklet can be instrumental in taking your business to new heights.

How To Grow Your Booklet Business When You Don’t Know What You Want

When you begin your booklet adventure, you might focus on one title, creating it and selling it.  You may not be able to see beyond that first booklet, and you may not want to.

At some point, however, new opportunities will present themselves and you will get to choose which direction you want your business to go.  You’ll be able to grow your business into whatever you want it to be.

At the beginning of your journey, you can’t see every twist and turn in the road.  A booklet may sound like a good idea to you, and you may be open to what lies ahead, but that’s as far as your “idea” goes.

You might not think about growing a million dollar business when you start.  You might just want some extra money on the side, or money might not even be part of the equation for you at all.  Perhaps you simply have a message you want to get out to the world and you like to write, and that’s your starting point.

You don’t have to have everything all figured out from day one.  All you need to do is decide which opportunities you’ll take advantage of when they present themselves, and your business will grow.

When You’ve Got It All Figured Out And It’s Not All About Booklets

Are you someone who knows where your business is going and it’s not focused on booklets?  You don’t have to sell booklets as a product in order for you to benefit from them.

You might use a booklet as a sample of your book, or it might be used as thank you gift to entice people to buy your main product.  Your booklet might be a promotional tool for you if you hand it to your audience for free when they attend your seminar.  Or, your booklet could be an easy way to test your market before you create the full blown product.

Creating a booklet doesn’t mean you must have a business that is focused only on booklets.  Your booklet may be a means to reaching an end that has nothing to do with booklets at all.

When It Is All About Booklets

If your plan is to create a booklet business that only sells booklets, you will still find that you have many opportunities for growth.  You may create a booklet about one subject, and then decide to branch out into other areas of your market by creating other booklets within the same subject area.

For example, your first booklet might be about caring for a newborn, which you market to new mothers.  You might create other, related booklets to sell to the same market, such as how to find the best daycare for a newborn, how to help older siblings adjust to the new baby, or the most common breastfeeding questions answered.  Your booklet business would grow in titles offered to your market.

Eventually, you may even decide to branch out into other, related markets such as parents of toddlers.  There’s no end to the opportunities that you can take advantage of.

Another option is that you might one day decide to venture beyond the booklet and create other products to offer your market, such as books, ebooks, cd’s or dvd’s.  It’s all up to you!

Of course, before you can take advantage of the opportunities that await you, you must first create your booklet.  It’s time!  Do it now!

To your riches,

Kim

Why would I do this?  Because I’ve seen too many shysters out there who will take your money and if you’re not satisfied with the service they provide, that’s just too bad.  They win, you lose.  That’s just not fair, and I won’t do that to you.  I believe in running an honest business and treating my customers and clients fairly – the same way I like to be treated when I do business with someone.

Booklets – The Easy Way To Get Into The Information Business

Everyone has inside information about something – information that others would pay to get their hands on.  It doesn’t matter whether you’re a top executive with degrees and awards, or a stay at home mom who has never worked a day in your life.  You possess valuable information that someone, somewhere would be willing to pay you for.

The Information Market Is Huge

Possibly the biggest industry boom that exists today is the information market.  There isn’t a single person on the planet who doesn’t need information on a daily basis.  Think about it.  From the time you get up in the morning you’re on a quest for information.  You need information about the weather, the traffic, and other things that are pertinent and personal to you.  And, it’s that personal information – which applies to an individual’s lifestyle or current situation – on which riches are made.

Why Your Information Is Unique

Your life is made up of experiences, and those experiences give you information.  That information goes into your brain and you process it, and package it up a certain way based on the outcome of your experience.  Nobody else has the exact same information you do, even if they shared the same experience with you.  They would process the information differently from the way you did.  Therefore, your information is unique and also valuable.  This is why you see so many books on the same topic.  How many diet books do we really need?  Well, all of them because there are so many different ways to go about dieting and a one size fits all book would never work.  Each one is written from a different perspective based on the author’s experience.

Start With A Booklet And Grow From There

Once you’ve determined that your information is worth something, your next move is to create an information product.  There are many different kinds of information products that you can create, but booklets are a very easy way to get started and they are also quite profitable.  They retain their value very well, and people tend to keep them and tell others about them – which helps to propel your sales forward.

Another reason booklets are such a great way to break into the info-marketing biz is that you can produce them for literally nothing.  How?  By creating an e-booklet which can be downloaded by paying customers.  E-booklets allow you to harness the internet and take advantage of all the riches it has to offer.

Of course, if e-booklets aren’t your thing, you can print hard copies of your booklets.  And, if you only print copies once they are sold it won’t cost you a dime!

Booklets are also a very versatile way to enter the information market because you can always add to them.  You can create both printed copies and e-booklet versions, add online audio or a cd, add other booklets, and so on to create a package.  You’re business can begin very small with a single booklet, and grow from there into whatever you want your product line to be.

With a booklet, you can have an idea today and literally have a completed product by this time next week.  The sooner you can get your product on the market, the sooner you can start making money.  What are you waiting for?

To your riches!

How To Build A Relationship With Your Readers So They’ll Buy From You Again And Again

Every booklet you create helps to build a relationship with your audience.  You may never meet your readers face to face, but they will come to expect a certain level of professionalism from you.  If they like your first booklet, they’ll expect your next one to be just as good.  Here’s how to build a relationship with your readers that will keep them happy and get them to buy from you over and over again.

Deliver What You Promise

Your booklets won’t sell because they look good or because the font is large and easy to read.  Your booklets will sell because they contain information that is useful to your audience.  The more vital that information is to them, the more likely they are to buy it.

Nobody expects a small booklet to be the final authority on your subject, but it should contain some information that is necessary to know.  For example, a booklet about how to do your own taxes should give people enough information, in a nutshell, so that they can actually do their own taxes themselves.  If your booklet fails to do this, people won’t buy from you again, nor will they recommend your booklet to others.  In fact, they’ll deter others from buying from you.  You must make sure your booklet delivers what you promise.

Make Sure It’s Complete

While your booklet isn’t expected to be the final authority on your subject, it should be complete.  If you remember sitting in English class when you were in school, you might remember being taught that a sentence needs to be a complete thought.  Your booklet is the same way.  It should leave the reader feeling fulfilled, like they can use what they have read, or like they have gained something from it.  Your booklet should not leave readers confused or in doubt. It should give readers enough information so that they feel like they have the basics, or like they have mastered one area of your subject.

Make It Easy To Understand And Absorb

Most people want information that is quick to absorb and easy to understand.  They aren’t looking for some complex explanation, and they don’t care about every last detail there is on your subject.  They want just enough information to take them to the next step, give them a basic introduction, or help them accomplish a single task.  Therefore, you need to keep your information simple.

Don’t use words that aren’t relevant to what you’re trying to convey, and don’t use words that are difficult to understand or complex sentences that are hard to read.  Keep your paragraphs, sentences and words short.  Your information should be easy to read and understand.

Relationship Is Everything

Following the guidelines above will help you to establish a good relationship with your readers.  That relationship is the very foundation of your booklet business.  It’s what will allow your business to grow as large as you want it to be. Businesses don’t fail because of the economy, or because of their competition, or because their logo is the wrong color.  Businesses fail because they didn’t deliver what they promised, and that tarnished their relationship with their customers.

When you buy a widget you expect that widget to work as promised.  Likewise, when you buy a “how to” book, you expect to learn “how to.”  If that widget doesn’t work, you’re disappointed.  And, if that book fails to teach you “how to,” your disappointed again, and it’s unlikely that you would give either the company that sold you the widget or the author who sold you the book a second chance.

Deliver what you promise and make sure your information is complete and easy to understand.  The riches will follow.

To your riches!

Do You Want A Business That Produces A Solid Income Or Would You Rather See A Movie?

One evening, while browsing at my local bookstore, I read something I thought was very profound.  It read something to the effect of, “If your house and car are a mess, your finances are probably a mess too.”  What the author was saying was that if you lack discipline in one area of your life, you probably lack it in others as well -  including and ultimately effecting your finances.

Starbucks And Other Non-Necessities

Being disciplined with your finances is extremely important if you want a better, more secure future.  I can’t speak for other countries, but here in America we are pretty sloppy with our money.  You might be the exception to the rule, but just in case you’re not, here is an example for you to consider.

I’ll use myself as an example since I am not immune to throwing money away on things I don’t need – like Starbucks.  I love Starbucks.  There’s nothing like an iced tea or an iced Americano on a hot day.  And, if I’m out with one or all of my children, I enjoy treating them.  It’s fun and it makes me feel good to give them something they enjoy.  I usually spend about two dollars on my own drink, and depending on how many of my children are with me and whether I just buy drinks or go all out and buy snacks too, I could spend as much as $16.00 or more per visit.  If you consider that I probably visit Starbucks 2 – 3 times per week, that adds up quickly.  In fact, I have spent about $35.00 at Starbucks over the past week.  If I spend that much every week, in a month’s time I will have spent $140.00!

Maybe you can relate to my love of Starbucks, or maybe it’s something else for you.  Maybe it’s betting and gambling, or maybe it’s dining out several times per week instead of eating at home, or dining in restaurants for lunch instead of packing one to take to work.

The point is there are ways you can cut back and save, and you should.  Does that mean I’ll stop visiting Starbucks?  No.  But, I won’t visit as often and I’ll keep better track of how much I spend there.  I might designate one day per week to visit Starbucks and put a limit on the amount I spend per visit.

Investing In A Sure ThingYou

Can you now see an area of your own life where you’re spending money that you don’t need to spend?  Many people have told me they want to write a booklet, but in spite of how little it costs to produce a booklet they tell me they can’t afford it.  Yet, these same people will throw money away on non-necessities such as eating out, seeing the latest movie, spur of the moment weekend trips, and yes, even Starbucks.  And they’re not just doing these things once in a while.  They’re doing them daily or several times per week.

You can afford to write and produce a booklet.  You just need to get your priorities in order.  Save the money from all the unnecessary purchases you make – like 4th of July fireworks – and put that money toward your booklet project.  Think of the benefit you’ll gain from that.  Instead of blowing your money on something that is a thrill for the moment, you can invest it in your booklet and create a business that will bring you more money and make your future more secure.

Investors today are worried about their money.  They wonder if this stock or that stock will fall.  You have the opportunity to invest in a sure thing – yourself and your work.  You are the one in control of your booklet business.  The money you invest into it can’t be eaten up by someone else’s bad decisions or people’s fear of investing.  You own the business and you make the decisions.  Doesn’t that seem like a good investment to you?  And it takes so little.  You don’t need to invest millions.  Just a latte here and a movie there, and maybe a dinner out or two.

The Economy Is Going To Get Worse – Are You Ready?

The economy is in a shambles.  That’s a fact.  And, by my own observations it’s not going to get any better.  In fact, it’s going to get worse.  Many people are looking for a momentary escape.  That’s why they go to movies and spend their money on the thrill of the moment.  I’m not saying you should never see a movie again or that you can’t go out to dinner once in a while.  I’m saying it all adds up so if you have dinner out and see a movie tonight, skip starbucks the rest of the week and, depending on your own personal budget, maybe don’t allow yourself another fun night until next month.  Then, take the money you would have spent on all those unnecessary things and invest it into your booklet business.

If you need money to create and produce a booklet and you’re throwing money away on things you don’t need, you have no right to complain that you don’t have the money to start your booklet business.  If you just skip those things that are not necessary and focus your attention on what you really want, you’ll find that you have the money you need to get it done.

Wouldn’t it be nice if, in the months ahead, you had a secure business that produced a solid income on a regular basis?  Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have money in the bank in case of an emergency?  You can have it.  It’s just a matter of making the choice to have it.  Do you want it, or would you rather see a movie?

To your riches!

Two Groups Of Writers – Which One Fits You?

Every writer varies in their vision for their work.  Some want to write articles.  Others want to write a book.  Some just want to write, and they are willing to look at all opportunities for doing so, from articles to books and booklets and anything in between.  It’s all good.  But, there’s really only two main groups of writers, and the group which you fit into will determine whether your writing makes you rich or not.

The First Group – Writing Is Something To Do For Fun

The first group of writers don’t see their writing as a business.  They enjoy their writing.  It’s something fun to do.  They do it as often as they can, and occasionally they may make a little money from it.  They have a more casual attitude toward their craft.  For these writers, writing is a hobby.  They may love to write, but they don’t take their writing seriously enough to create a business from it.  Their writing will never make them rich because they’re not focused on it from that point of view.

The Second Group – Writing Is A Business

Writing as a hobby is perfectly fine.  There is nothing wrong with that.  But, this won’t work for you if you intend to make a living from your writing or, even better, become rich from it.  To do this you must view your writing as the vehicle for getting you from where you are now to where you want to go. Here’s an example to illustrate this.

Imagine you live in New York and wanted to move to California.  You plan to get to California by car.  Many people in New York don’t own cars, so you would probably need to purchase one.  If you were serious about moving and you wanted to do it right away, you would begin looking for a car immediately.  You would look at many different cars, but you would probably buy something nice since you’d be taking a long trip and most likely keeping the vehicle once you reached California.

In this illustration, New York represents where you are now.  California is your goals (more money, nice vacations, etc).  The car is your writing.  Notice that you are looking for a nice car, which represents giving your writing your best, and you’re putting alot of effort into finding that car immediately, which means you’re giving your writing priority to get you to your goals.

Why You’ll Never Get Rich Writing Just For Fun

Someone who writes as a hobby will put off finding the car, or they’ll look for the cheapest car they can find.  They won’t worry too much about polishing up their writing and making it a priority.  There are other things they would rather do.  They aren’t really sure California is where they want to go.  They are not focused on a destination or a goal.  They see many different places they could go, and they want to take their time and explore along the way.

This is why writing as a hobby will never make you a full time income and you’ll never be rich from it.  You must focus on your goals and take your writing seriously in order to make real money from it.  Booklets are the easiest route for doing this, but you must still view them as a business – a vehicle to get you where you want to go.

When you take your writing seriously, you’ll put in the effort to start your work, finish your work, create more, and keep going.  Do this repeatedly and you’re on your way to success.

To your riches,

Kim
